Zethrin was born in Glasinkyl to a noble mother and father, around his sixteenth year Zethrin's true heritage was put into light with the first set of silver scales around the right hand side of his face that at first his mother tried to pass off as some kind of curse. He left his hometown after the backlash (and his father kicking him out) and headed out into the outside world to gain more knowledge on his bloodline and well, what sheltered noble doesn't want a good look at what they've been missing out on?


Purple (dyed) hair, one purple, one blue eye. His outfit is slightly outlandish and draws in attention, a mixture of purples and glowing yellow and white. oversized hat, silk scarf and overall well made clothing that his former riches bought him.

Flavor Requirements

Parts of your character might call for specific "flavor requirements." 

  • Fetish: Dominant people, someone's stronger than him? Has a great accent? hell yeah

  • Secret: once killed someone that he'd been friends with in a moment of panic when they turned on him.(does regret that action) Hopes people never find out or find the body
  • Supernatural features: scales along the right hand side of his face (around his eye) tries to keep them covered either with illusion magic or having his hat low enough or hair across them so it covers things. Has been known to pluck them once in a while
  • Compulsive behaviour: Collecting things, magic items, things that he's heard is rare and valuable like he would of had at home, stealing is bellow him even after what he went through, good looking clothes and books are some of the things he's going to go after.
  • Create Illusion: he started with learning to create basic illusions to see what could be done with them, using basic illusions to make people see things, practising making himself look different to hide the few scales that had formed.
  • Create Illusion-Disguise 

Zethrin conceals his or another person's appearance. Roll create illusion- anyone attempting to see through the illusion must beat your margin with sight to see through it. This is unaffected by seeming, as it is not a Glamor

  • Phantasmic illusions: his best line of defence, if someone manages to get close he can touch them and make them relive the worst memory they have as a means for him to escape while their reeling from it, doesn't mind using it but knows sometimes its a necessary thing.
  • Phantasmal illusion: Recall Trauma

Zethrin creates an illusion of the target's memory, calling forth their deep secrets and troubling histories. Zethrin can see the illusion created for the target but not the memories themselves.

-Recall Trauma: The target takes 1 injury as their trauma manifests physically.

-Bravery: You are not [frightened] but may still be injured

  • Sewing: Of all the things he thought he'd have to learn, sewing wasn't one of them. But repairing such well made clothing isn't an easy task and he'd sooner do it himself than things be risked and lost to others.

Backstory & Origin

Where are you from and what are you doing on the Isle of Luachmhar?

Born in Glasinkyl and was raised there from birth until he was sixteen, lived his life mostly studying for his role in life and having to learn languages so he'd be able to speak a vast variety like his father did. When he was kicked out he was left with a suitcase of clothes thrown out of the window by his mother along with a pouchful of coins and was left out in the streets with nearly nothing to his name. A man by the name of Erkas, who was in his early 50's saw him hanging around not knowing what to do and after a day or so of seeing him in the same place decided to help him out. After a bit of convincing and a bit of shock om Erkas's side seeing that he wasn't completely human, took him in offering him food and a place to stay in exchange for helping him out around the house, translating letters and things from books that he couldn't read himself. Once pressure started to be put on the two of them, Erkas helped him get off the island and into further education as much as he could, the two keep a strong connection and write weekly. 

On Zethrin's  travels he had started to learn and quite quickly, quite a few humans don't like his type and don't get him started on animals. They bite, scratch, hiss, growl and just tend to go after him if he gets too close, he missed the connection of another creature and it was clear that him and animals aren't going to mix he decided to do himself one batter. Zethrin needed a familiar, something that wasn't going to leave him, something big that could stop people from attacking him, once he got the materials together and he had a good idea of what he had to do, when he was twenty, he made the attempt. He summoned a large striped hyena, like the one he had seen in the markets when they had gone traveling to exotic places and books of predatory creatures, he was cautious at approaching at first but the familiar quickly approached him leaning against his legs like an oversized dog and it was the first form of comfort he had had in four plus years. (has since named it Bruiser, original yes he's aware. But Bruiser is a great pillow at night. 

The two of them are on the isle of Luachmhar to get a new start in life and learn all he can about illusion magic, Bruiser is just happy to be there and enjoy the sights (and chase other animals with glee) he's a lot more sociable than his master is. Zethrin tries to pass off his scales as a medical condition.

  • Levi (Rickshaw): Met him at a concert in Glaisinkyl when the two of them were in the mosh pit, saved his ass when the mosh pit got a bit too violent and he was nearly trampled (Levi gets leverage for saving his ass)
  • Jermaine: a Musician that Zethrin quite often went to see, would do just about anything to go back for one more song.
  • Slingers: They are the main reason why he headed towards The University, once they found him they decided to take him in and tutor him as a member of their order
