The group rests at the Gooseberry InnThe Party topples the render, impressing Roallet greatly. After the customary taste test, she has her guards remove the body quickly along with the remains of the other creatures felled in the night. Roallet has an aside with Vic and proposes an arrangement of mutual discretion if he and the others in his company make a quick and quiet investigation of the fire.
· The group rests at the Gooseberry Inn, finding that the cost of their lodging has been handled by Roallet. Griddle cakes are passed around liberally while Harvey bogarts the dross. Malery takes her leave of the party, inviting them to visit her and her wife at the family vineyard, Twin Vines. Paws and Vic chat before all retire to catch up on neglected rest.
· The group sleeps until mid-afternoon. While Kas makes crackers with Vic and Paws in the suite, Harvey and Searos start in on their detective work in earnest. Harvey scouts the ruined structure and finds it still smoldering, though less so from the early morning. Knots of spectators talk amongst themselves on the streets, speculating about the sudden blaze.
· Searos, flame resistant and transformed into a warhorse, enters the ruined building. He can see the enormous hole in the floor where the render emerged. Opposite Searos, on the other side of the hole, dense formations of shattered glass glint in the smokey air. Searos notices small slivers, more dispersed, near where he is standing and retrieves one. The shard’s edges are largely clean, except for one shallow, crescent edge which is deeply charred and carries many tiny fissures. Roallet is not particularly impressed with this artifact.
· Meanwhile, Kas makes three beautiful smiley-face crackers while Paws prods Vic for more details of his personal life. The two find common ground, both having been sheltered by remote spiritual centers: Vic at Sunpeak in the Star Mounts of the High Forest, Paws much farther north in even less hospitable climates. As Vic chews his cigar and looks out the window, his memories overlaid against the ramshackle rooftops of Daggerford, Searos and Harvey return from their excursion.
Mallory invites us over to her home one day even through all the things she's been through because of us. Twin Vines
I ask her about Tupper. There is sadness and regret. Tupper is somewhere. tell her hi if we see her.
Vic asks for griddlecakes.
Paws and I of course get a room together.
Kas asks to help in the kitchen. no luck. but the innkeeper gives her a skillet and a VERY rusted cauldron that Searos will help clean and season.

Paws and Vic talk about their monastaries.
Rolatt asks us to investigate the cobbler shop and find out what happened.
Searos and Harvey go on an adventure to investaige while Vic, Paws and Kas sleep in and releax.
