The great oracles of the giants spied the land of the dragons and declare the arrogant empire ripe for plunder. So the giants set sail and met the dragons in battle. The giants did not account for the "insignificant fleas" of the empire that rose up with their dragon masters.

Government and Society

The giants have a strict social structure called the ordning, which all giants and their servitors adhere to, passed down directly from their gods. This class-based system assigned a social rank to each individual. This system was passed down to the servitor races, each knowing their place in how to serve giant society.

Class rank was determined using a different combination of qualities, depending on the giant society.

Adventurers often stand outside this class system because they refuse to accept their place. They strive for great deeds and treasures to return triumphantly to earn a new esteem or to break free of it altogether.

Magic and Technology

Before their invasion and war with the dragons, giants were deeply devote, calling upon the might of their gods in the form of rune magic. Fire giants would imbue runic magic into their craft, while stone giants would work it into the rock and earth, and storm giants would wield it with the elements themselves. Rune magic is object based and objects of power are of incredible importance to society.

The ordning was passed down from their gods and oracles, giants are very spiritual, believing their deities guide them towards perfect and higher standing.

Cultural Traits

The people of the (Giant Empire) know their place in the world--to be on the top towering all others. They work hard to excel in what they do. The drive for perfection can also be annoying to others who do not understand the ordning, leading to misunderstandings or disagreements. Because those outside the empire do not have rank and standing, they are often treated as lower rank which can lead to other problems.
