Believes in Verve and the rhythm of life above all, merging the role of religion (grounded in observations about the post-Calamity world/cosmology plus a faith in the people's better angels) with that of a loose commune/kibbutz or neighborhood association.
Dates back to very soon after the Maelstrom formed, with founders who must now be dead unless they are elven/dwarvish OR secret archdruids. The founding members are not, to anyone's knowledge, located in Ravenspeak. The group must have offshoots (with nobody knowing the source location) elsewhere on Tectonia and other islands; these have certainly diverged and evolved much like every other facet of the world over the last century, at least once the mutual aid network of resource shipments slowed down. Individuals who spread the beliefs (in the manner of union salting) would/do settle permanently in a place, rather than moving on.
the Enclave engages in some charitable works, but prefers to keep tabs on everyone's wellbeing consistently so that major interventions aren't required. In Ravenspeak, people opt into the group (NOTE: kids tend to receive the "it takes a village" approach to parenting/education, but are generally permitted to part with the Enclave lifestyle at the age of reason) and it encourages a communal, cooperative, supportive environment.
The ideology stems from the (perceived) years of mutual aid and togetherness ~160 years past, when folks did all they could to help those nearby and even far away on now-separate landmasses by shipping vital resources to and fro without thinking of profits. Enclave members typically bemoan the rise of commerce and mercenary work in recent years, which can lead to friction with everyone else. Handel views them as harmless, naïve and sometimes irritating 'hippies', ~ Zeersedlo being no exception.
A core belief in the Enclave is that people must NOT re-develop the technology and magics to their pre-existing levels, since this is believed to be the cause of the The Old War and the Maelstrom. This makes them 'Luddite' and 'anti-progress' in the eyes of critics, who may be right. 'Enclavers'
Ravenspeak Enclavers depend on ~ Zeersedlo and a handful of other capable types for defense and ranging needs. There is no one 'charismatic leader' type in charge, preventing a cult mentality, though a core of ~5 leadership-minded adults do tend to make the decisions by force of personality/dedication.
