Chapter Six: New Friends

Chapter Seven: Crushing It

After defeating the guards at the front door of the warehouse and having a quick look whether the surrounding area was still quiet, the party decided to enter the warehouse. Fir went in first, without any thought for caution, but got lucky and opened the door unnoticed by whoever was inside. Upon opening the door, Fir saw that except for a few crates, the warehouse itself was quite empty. Over by one set of boxes was a figure robed in the familiar purple robes. Over in the far corner was a magnificent, well-crafted set of ornamental armor.

When more of the party wanted to make their way inside, their luck ran out and the robed figure spotted them, asking them to leave immediately. When the party did not comply, the figure threatened them with death if they did not leave. Again, the party would not move. Upon this, the figure summoned an imp and once more threatened that if they did not leave, they would perish. Being of the stubborn kind, the party would not bulge. And so, combat ensued.

Seeing this happen and being overwhelmed by the memory of what these horrible people have done to her, fear overtook to Davia. She could not remain her and fled.

The rest of the party quickly defeated the imp and moved on to the robed figure. Upon seeing his minion get killed, the figure quickly cast a spell and a twitch move through the set of armor. With this, the set came alive and started making its way over to the party, engaging in combat with Pip and Fir while Serall and Belladonna managed to knock the robed figure unconscious. Despite its tough plate armor, the helmed horror appeared to not be much of a threat, as the enchantment that brought it to life seemed to be a rather clumsy one. Falling to his knees up to three times and getting his sword stuck in a box, the helmed horror only managed to do little damage to the party. And after a while of hammering down on the armor, this last threat was also defeated.

Having conquered over their foes, Belladonna cast a spell to entangle the now unconscious robed figure in roots and Fir started looking through the warehouse for possible clues. When he started opening some of the crates, a few batches of pixies came rushing out and except for one, all fled immediately. Since the pixie did not speak common, and only Belladonna spoke Sylvan, the halfling druid was the only one who could converse with the pixie. So, Belladonna learned that the pixies name was Adelina and that she had been captured from her home on Elysius and brought here to Ellestin. Adelina did not know where she was being brought to or why. At this point, Fir awoke the captive robed man, but not before Adelina warned them of sensing a magical essence on him. After interrogating him and learning that the pixies were being brought to a dwarven stronghold in the mountains, they knocked him unconscious again and searched him. On his person, Pip found a milk-white crystal on a necklace, that Fir was able to identify as a Starlit Crystal, for these artifacts were also used at his monastery. A starlit crystal collects magical essence of the stars and can, once a day, grant someone who focusses on it for more than six seconds enough arcane power to perform simple spells.

After this the party brought the hostage to Gallard’s house, where Gallard’s husband, Davyd, brought some rope to tie him up. Here he awoke again but was quickly knocked out again. After discussing what to do, Gallard said that it was too late at night to continue tonight, and to bring him to the Ironheart clan main house the next morning. The party brought him back to the house and locked him up in the secret basement that once held a sacrificial altar.
Here the party found Davia sobbing in her room, but she did not want to talk about what happened. However, once she met Adelina, a resident to her native land that spoke her native tongue and went through a similar trauma, she opened up. However, only Belladonna was able to understand them speaking in Sylvan, so the rest went to bed. Belladonna and Davia stayed up to quite late and ended up double barricading the trapdoor to the basement with a heavy chair.

In the morning, the prisoner had managed to escape his bounds, and was found banging on the trapdoor by Pip and Serall. When the rest of the party came down, they talked the prisoner into exchanging more information for breakfast, and so they learned that the pixies were being taken to Tuath Kumaill, the dwarven capital in the north. However, when the party was trying to tie the prisoner up to bring him to the clan, he tried to attack Fir and Serall jumped down to help. Due to an unfortunate miscalculation of what would happen if she jumped on top of a person, she ended up crushing the prisoner to death.

Upon hearing this news, Gallard panicked and figured out a new way to interrogate the now dead prisoner. He would have a high arcanist of the clan come by to cast Speak with Dead and ask him five more questions. Before the arcanist arrived, Pip rearranged the body to look decent again, and licked up some blood, deciding to collect a bottle full of it. The party learned through the arcanists questions that the cult was hiding “below” Tuath Kumaill and the arcanist was able to tell them that below the city were ancient ruins and caves.

After the arcanist left the building, Pip attempted to eat some of the body, but realized it wasn’t good and got poisoned. When Pip felt a bit better, she, Belladonna and Serall went to buy some stuff in the city and Fir went to pray and volunteer at a sanctuary of the Lady. Then the party went to bed.
