The elves are a race inhabiting Faelathla. They are distinguished by their long pointed ears, slender forms, long hair, fair complexion, and long lives.
Unlike the other races of the world, who originated from Silvanus, the elves were birthed of Corellon's blood, thus making them more directly related to godkind than any other race. However, because the blood spilled was finite, so too are the elves. When an elf dies, their soul is preserved and reborn into a new elf child. However, the same is also true of half-elves. Any human with elf blood in their ancestry has a chance to birth a half-elf, provided an elf soul is available. This has led to an unforeseen consequence where humans, who breed much more quickly than elves, have been giving birth to greater numbers of half-elves, and fewer elf souls remain for elf children to be born.
Because of their limited population, elves do not have the same drive as humans and dwarves to expand their kingdoms. Instead, what little land they do claim as their own is master-planned, immaculate, and breathtaking.
