Legends tell of a titanic monstrosity, unstoppable by even land and sea. As it roamed, it is said to have walked through the raised cliffs of BaelVarnath, as walking around them would have been too much effort. The gaping wound left behind scabbed over with frothing waves, and the land became known as the Scarred Cliffs.
