Mundane and Arcane Sciences Institute

The Cammara Magga Tur Loryod Mundane and Arcane Sciences Institute (shortened to Cammara MASI, by those other races who don’t have time to say the whole thing) is a technological university that focuses on practical research and engineering. Compared the arcane studies here to those of the Wizard’s College in Selu Va'Taar, which takes a more theoretical approach, the arcane studies at MASI are somewhat more iterative and unconventional.

The Terrania.

The main campus entrance is tucked underneath and behind the largest water wheel in Cammara, its axle turning gears inside the cliff face which can be heard but not seen.

The entranceway is magically lit, and the colors cycle in a choreographed fashion which creates an illusion leading along the path.

As the path opens, your eyes take in the sight before you. The campus is in a large circular chasm with pathways carved around the perimeter. Buildings and student dorms dot these pathways, with studious gnomes traveling between entranceways. From the entranceway, you see mechanical apparatuses and cogs in use to your left, and several metal tubes and pipes porting unknown materials between levels to your right. These wall levels are where newly-admitted students work to prove themselves to potential mentors.

In the center of the chasm are three wide waterfalls which drop straight down, forming thin sheets in the shape of a triangle. What’s more, colored light travels up the falling streams, creating a tricolor array of blue, red, and yellow. This wall of light is only broken by white speckles from the sunlight descending the chasm from above.

Inside the lightfalls stands the stately main library. The entranceway continues straight towards a bridge leading across the water pooling at the base. The library sports a modern exterior of seemingly impossible geometry. This is the one part of the university that appears to be open to the public.

As you cross the bridge, a shadow is cast upon you. You look up and see four floating platforms: one central and three auxiliary connected by suspended walkways. The central platform contains administrative buildings, while the three others represent the research offices of the three branches of the institute. These floating branches, and their corresponding lab spaces carved into the cavern perimeter, are off-limits to all but faculty and their students.
