Artemis Fidatov was an architect who designed many of the buildings in the country of Barovia. He was very likely apprenticed to or influenced by Deirdre. At some point, a magic consuming parasite became attached to his heart. He attempted to write a Wish scroll, but while writing it at his desk in a secret chamber below his crypt, he became encased in amber. This amber preserved his body and halted the effects of the parasite. Some centuries later, Dina Coventry, with the party's help, attempted to surgically remove the parasite from his heart. He died in the process.
