Letters of Squire Maurice to Lady Andrella
My liege,
We once again ventured to yonder Estate of the Mountain King, inhabited by goblinfolk, in order to ascertain numbers and mount a glorious assault.
The plan was to accumulate the supposedly magical liquids from the garden of tranquillity, but venturing into the compound we invaded the dormitory of a number of hairy creatures, as we squared up to fight they succumbed to our fierce strikes and turned tail and ran.
The mage put a brace of them into a slumber, whilst the rest clambered down stairs. we hacked and burnt them, including a number of reinforcements, it was a glorious battle but, alas, some escaped our wrath and we decided to withdraw.
I present to you a captive who may be encouraged to reveal information, so we may begin another assault.
I must protest to your grace, that these ne'er do wells seem fond of oil and fire rather than a trusty blade, I would admonish them for their ungentlemanly behaviour but I fear their prowess in battle is significant enough to overlook these matters for the sake of detente.
They are a fine company and I seek to follow them in future endeavours to prove my worth.
