Ironhold and the Eternal Battleground

The Eternal Battleground is an infinite field where legendary warriors clash in never-ending combat. The skies are darkened by storm clouds, and the air is filled with the sounds of battle—clashing swords, war cries, and the thunder of hoofbeats – and the smells of fire, blood, and brimstone. Rivers of molten steel flow through the craggy terrain. Towering walls and massive, ancient fortresses dominate the landscape, all marred by the signs of a war that has raged since the beginning of time. Scattered throughout the Battleground are tall watchtowers manned by vigilant sentinels. These towers are equipped with powerful, enchanted beacons that can pierce through any darkness or illusion, ever watchful and prepared for any threat.

In the center of the Eternal Battleground stands the Hall of Heroes, a grand and majestic hall where the spirits of those who have fallen in honorable battle gather, celebrate their victories, and honor their companions. This hall is adorned with tapestries depicting heroic deeds, and statues of the greatest champions. Eternal torches light the hall, casting a warm, golden glow. Long tables are laden with the finest food and drink, served by ethereal attendants. The hall is a place of camaraderie, where warriors from all eras and lands can find solace and recognition.

Surrounding the Hall of Heroes are the Fields of Honor, tranquil and lush lands offering a place for contemplation and peace where warriors can find respite and reflection. Beautiful, serene gardens and clear, flowing streams provide a stark contrast to the chaos of the Eternal Battleground.

Overlooking the Hall of Heroes, the Fields of Honor, and the Eternal Battleground, lies Ironhold, the impenetrable fortress of Tharok. Built from blackened steel and stone, it stands as a testament to his unyielding nature. The fortress is filled with armories, training grounds, and war rooms where strategies are endlessly discussed and refined.

At the highest point of the fortress is Tharok’s throne room, where he observes the battles below and holds counsel with the greatest generals and heroes. The throne itself is a massive seat fashioned from the scales and bones of Ignathar the Infernal, an ancient and mighty red dragon that Tharok slew in an epic battle that devastated an entire world. The dragon's skull serves as the throne's backrest, with its fearsome maw open wide.
