Adventurers
With Groucho having gotten himself a new pair of boots, the party set off once again for the tower. As they approached it they noticed a trio of large cockroach-like creatures with peculiarly glinting wings flying around over the cliff face. They shot one down and saw the other two fly down into the cliff. Mandras dangled himself from the overhang to see some holes in the rock some way down. Preferring not to trap themselves somewhere unknown, the party opted to return to familiar territory and descended through the tower’s trapdoor.
Then they sought out new territory, heading down a flight of stairs and coming to a statue with visibly movable arms and waist. They played around with various positions but to no effect, so they passed through a plain door instead. It opened into an old kitchen area, and their gaze immediately fell upon a large figure of stone, wood and bone with fine silver filigree detailed into the main body, all designed to look like a vague humanoid in fancy service clothes. One of its hands was welded to the floor with the same substance that had claimed Groucho’s boot, and it was creaking volubly at the shoulder. They decided to take it on, forming up into ranks and getting in close and personal.
Its free arm whirled violently through the air and thumped into Tyrion’s chest, sending the elf flying, badly hurt but alive. The harm the party were doing in turn to the rocky figure further damaged its shoulder and it ripped itself free, leaving the limb stuck to the floor. It wasn’t able to land any more blows upon the adventurers, though, and they brought it down with a final crash.
After pilfering the kitchen silverware and finding a stash of coins stuffed up the chimney, they continued exploring this lower floor, eventually coming to a gaping hole in the wall which opened out into the sky. They’d found one of the entrances Mandras had spotted earlier, and they saw the two roaches as well. The both came at the party grasping spears. They killed one but couldn’t catch the other before it flew out into the open again and headed down out of sight. The party edged back into the corridor, pondering their next move.
