The Northern Light

The Northern Light is the in where travelers typically stay in between making a journey to one of the Southern towns, into the Dwarven Valley, or a trek up Kelvin's Cairn.

A lantern hangs by the exterior entrance. It was once enchanted by a passing wizard and ever since the enchantment has caused it to have a perpetual glow that gradually shifts between shades of green, red, and blue.  The ribbons of color favoring the Northern Lights and so giving the Inn its name.

Run by sisters, Allie Shorard and her sister Cori Shorard. who argue daily, like clockwork.

Henry

As the party enters the warm interior of the Northern Light, the scent of some cleaning agent hangs heavy in the air over the scent of cedar that burns in a large open oven that sits surrounded by a butcher block and prep station.  Upon it, a shorter stout woman with a brown bob that's grown out slightly mixes something within a mortal and pestle. Beside it a medium fish that is completely cased in a cocoon of salt. She carefully peels several large carrots and pours the mixture overtop before setting it all aside. She grumbled under her breath and doesn't look up.

A slightly younger woman, dirty blonde hair, fair features and a smile paces back and forth an almost sleeping baby at her chest while singing "All the pretty little horses."

In the corner of the room opposite Cori, who is prepping food - Propped rather than sitting against a stool the large and unmistakable figure of a dragonborn man.  His face hidden behind the pages of "Ten Town's Tribunal" as he reads through.

At the sound of Allie Shorard's singing the small head resting on your shoulder Ameriel stirs slightly but does not wake entirely in your warm embrace. She looks over to you with an understanding smile before recognizing the brown hair that falls across the boys face and she pauses in mis-understanding.

"Is that Henry?" she looks between you all recognizing Dot and looking from her to the others whom she cannot identify.

The paper drops slightly and overtop it the dragonborn observes quietly.  "Cori, Take the baby." Cori turns around her face stern, ready to protest but seeing the rest of you there she takes the baby and puts herself behind the bar.  Simultaneously Allie makes her way forward and holds her arms out for Henry. He snuggled into her arms, but isn't as warm and the boy wakes exhausted. He seems uncertain of exactly where he is but recognizes her and buries his face in her shoulder."

Trovus

Listening to all of this from behind his paper, Trovus stands as the child is handed off and gives a familiar nod to Dot.

"Welcome back to Caer Konig, It is good to see a friendly face. Would you care to join me for a meal and a drink, we have much to discuss.

News Trovus Knows:

  1. He wants to know any news from Caer Dineval
  2. He has heard of Gnolls prowling southward toward Caer Dineval, he is unaware they have reached his town.
