The past Ten Day Tempered Eydis' resolve quickly. Icewind Dale had thrust forcefully onto her shoulders a sharp understanding of the raw nature of this place and It was nothing like she had imagined. It was the type of place she'd read about in books, where adventurous feats were romanticized against the backdrop of rugged landscaped and hardships only overcome by true heroes. She had imagined herself, holed up in a Dwarven Keep studying the various uses of medicinal herbs, and taking a studious approach to her clerical path; guided by the hand of Freya. Yet, here she stood in the streets of the City of Easthaven, eyes locked on the shades of blue that made up the stained glass windows that swept down from the peak of the Temple of Tempus. She Enters.
"What brings you to the Temple of Tempus?" Accalia asked with heightened interest.
The corners of her lips upturned just slightly, a small twinkle in her eye. "Come, Walk with me." She leads Eydis through the vaulted space, bathed in blue light. An ornate Red carpet with Gold Threads woven into it reached the entire distance of the space. Glass displays sat on either side of the long rug, illuminated thoughtfully beneath the stained glass each of them concealing a weapon. Ahead a giant statue rising 25 feet high of what looked to be a human man riding atop his two warhorses.
Below the Statue, emitting an orange aura, a series of Glyphs infused with the power of Tempus. It reads in Giant "Here lies Jerrod's Stone. May it be an eternal reminder of the Courage of Men, in the face of Demon's and Devils"
"Look upon the Foe Hammer" She steps around behind Eydis and leans down until she is right behind her right ear. "What do you see?" She whispers.
"I see strength. A Fighter."
She pulls out a small disc and presses it gently between her fingers revealing a small mirror and hands it to Eydis. "Now, What do you see?"
" I see a person that needs a new path, a new approach."
She takes back the mirror and stows it away. "The beauty is that, you can remain all those things and be accepted by the Foehammer." Those of all ages, backgrounds, and ideologies find themselves in his favor. Tempus wins wars for no-one mentally or on the battlefield, but rather dispenses his favor chaotically often times "Changing the Tide" of war... or a person's life. You see, he encourages us to be uniquely ourselves - and to enjoy the splendor life has to offer - as long as we act honorably within the construct of our own free will. When I look upon Tempus, chaotic though he may be, I find gratitude for the self control I have gained as an Acolyte Devoted to the Battle Lord. By being given the privilege's of free-will within my service, I have found much clarity in my own ideals and find peace in the war within myself.
If you wish to enter the service of Tempus, you should speak to Everard. He will decide if you can be dedicated.
Everard:
Welcome to the TempIe of Tempus. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. I saw you in the crowd at the Execution, what brings you?
**If she asks about service to Tempus**
Everard takes a formal stance and surveys Eydis. "Answer these things."
- What do you love more than yourself? My Friends, My Family.
- What do you fear? A Hag. She stole me away as a child.
- What is it you seek, that you feel honoring the Lord of Battles will bring you?
To live in service to Tempus requires one to dedicate themselves to three things
- Be fearless.
- Never turn away from a fight [ Internal or External ]
- Obey the rules of engagement.
You will take on Accalia in Single Combat in the Pits. The two of you will combat for the favor of Tempus. You will display these qualities in the Shadow of the Temple in his honor. Should you succeed, you may undergo the dedication ceremony.
