Since coming to power at the end of the last Tournament of Power, Garivald has made it the priority of his reign as leader to transform Firedrake into a fair and equitable nation where all are treated equally.
Born of a Caster mother and Dexter father, while young, he is not as idealistic as he may seem; knowing full well that Lord Blackblade may make a play to take over the land in order to advance his agenda. For the time being, he has eased the tension by allowing the Hunters to capture the Crested Wyrms they train into steeds from Wyrmwood and to travel into his lands in search for the book Blackblade is looking for.
During the Battle of Goldcross, while attempting to protect children of the city something awakened within Garivald and his latent powers as a Caster manifested. It is not known how this happened, or if it has happened before in the history of Kyrandia.
