Who are you, strange voice, that has been summarizing my recent days? Whitmont said something about a voice from the Moonwell but this doesn't sound like it. Am I drunk enough to be writing back to you now? But why? Won't you just know what's going on anyway? Well, fuck it, not much choice for people to talk to on this boat anyway.
At the Fountains, we found the water and a surprise exiled child: Sand, the true heir to the Bell family. Not only that, we found a SECOND exiled child, the Grand Admiral's thought-to-be-dead daughter, Mermaid. Looks like Bell and Tulane have exiling kids in common. So the Cult of the Moonwell, wanted to kill Tulane and put Mermaid in puppet power position controlled by Mercer? Really, it's a bit much. Come on Mercer. Man up and kill him yourself. Before much happens, 7/12 takes Bell and Sand into the water. Probably to my refuge. Why trust the kid with that secret?? She's a kid, Sam, just lie next time.
We got attacked by Tulane's other boat, the Tyrant, captained by Shen. Barely able to stand but a member of the cult. We were all dead but Whitmont pulls out a literal beating heart, holds it up and bursts all the blood vessels in the heads. The Drowned react but in some weird rave-like dance way. As if things weren't already weird. Whitmont also manages to pilot the boat away like a damn action hero. On the ride back to the Undertow, I tell Whitmont about my refuge and my workshop. I tell her that mom was part of the group that was drowned in the Undertow by Tulane. Sealed off to save the many. I tell her mom is chained up at the refuge so that she can be saved someday. I ask her if she thinks if the heart somehow connects to the Drowned and bring them back? Will the song reach them? She was intrigued. Maybe this is it.
