Elves

The original elves that were brought to Greycoast were the Silverleaf Elves from the Feywild. That clan split in half, with one half staying in the home forest to tend to the sacred grove of silver leafed Treants. The other half exploring their new home world. That tribe eventually split into two becoming the Qualond and Alorum Elves.

Elves are a humanoid race renowned for their grace and mastery of magic and weapons. They are famously long lived, maturing at the same rate as humans, becoming an adult around 20 years old a non adventuring elf will reach elderly sometime between 700 to 1000 years old. They remain young, both in appearance and physically until somewhere around their 500th year. That is when they will start to show signs of age. Elves are (generally) unusually beautiful in face and body.

Elves are an androgynous culture, as adults are sequential hermaphrodites. There is little physical difference between males and females as they are born hermaphrodites. When elves enter puberty at around 16 years old they begin developing secondary sex characteristics of male or female that aligns with their interests in life. For males they are the ability to generate muscles faster, more defined muscles, facial hair. Elven facial hair terminal length isn’t much more than stubble. (outside of Elven society around other races it can grow up to an inch or two) For females it is less defined muscles and a rounder softer body and breasts. An elf can go through a “puberty” to change sex that takes about a month. Elves In their own societies, or in groups of mostly Elves will maintain their mostly androgyny. Elves out in other societies or groups of mostly other races will develop more pronounced secondary characteristics.

There are numerous different sub-races and subcultures of elves, including aquatic elves, Drow, Qualond, Alorum, Black, Graie, and others not found in Greycoast. The offspring of humans and elves are known as "half-elves" among humans, and as "half-humans" among elves.

As creatures of the Feywild originally, Elves can travel long distances without leaving tracks, can walk across snow where other humanoids would sink, are not affected by natural temperatures (they don’t get cold in the arctic, or hot in the desert), and only require 4 hours of sleep (still need 8 hours of down time for a long rest, but only need to sleep 4 of them)
