1. Locations

Hosko

Astrographical Information

  • Location: Hosko System, Hutt Space
  • Grid Coords: S - 11
  • Atmosphere: Type 1 (Breathable)
  • Primary Terrain: Large oceans, open plains, mountain ranges

Societal Information

  • Core Species: No sapient natives, all immigrant species
  • Population: 50,000 - 100,000 (+ an additional 100,000 in orbit)
  • Major Imports: Agricultural machinery, manual labour
  • Major Exports: Agricultural products

Most of Hosko's climate consists of open plains, verdant tropical forests, and towering mountains with plateau-like features. Furthermore, a large share of the planet's surface is covered with water. The planet was never originally inhabited by any sapient species; all such life on the planet is in the numerous colonies scattered around.

Larger "hub" settlements are few and far between, for two reasons:

  • Operations on the planet are, by far, industrial explots by privately owned corpirations. These corporations need some presence on the planet, beyond the droid labour used to perform the manual labour — hence the colonies connected to each operation.
  • Most life on the planet, beyond these colonies, can be found at the massive space station located in the planet's orbit.

Arcadis Space Station

'Arcadis' is the name of the space station orbiding the planet Hosko.

The station is said to hold a population close to, or even greater than the population on the planet itself — a somewhat impressive feat, when considering the number of industrial colonies on the planet, even as small as they are.

A not insignificant part of the trade happening aboard the Arcadis is smuggling; either off the planet itself or as a white-washing of goods passing along the Pabol Hutta hyperlane. The station can be considered a megacity, only a small share of whom live on the station purely as an occupational residence.

The Kessia Cordell Colony

Hosko

Kessia Cordell is the name of the farming colony on Hosko that Kawa-Zemke Corp maintained for Bargos the Hutt. The entire colony houses approximately 2,000 people in total.

Recently, the Kawa-Zemke administration on the planet was forced to break its bonds with the parent company, causing a chaotic downspiral of bureaucratic red tape that ultimately put the colony into the colonists' own self-governed hands.

  • About 800 of these colonists live in the center space port hub. It is a small port, housing a large and open landing zone stretching out over an open plain. This landing zone then connects to the space port itself, which spans out around a central sattelite tower.
  • The remaining 1200 colonists live at numerous homesteads across the landscape. Each homstead is maintaining its own industrial operation, most of it agricultural. A share of the production goes to the continued survival of the colony. The rest is exported off the planet, netting a very tidy profit for Kawa-Zemke and Bargos the Hutt.

Kessia Cordell Station

Kessia Cordell Station is the spaceport station at the heart of the Kessia Cordell colony. It is the point of operation for Kawa-Zemke on Hosko, and the point through which all cargo transit happens.

There are four homesteading points connected to Kessia Cordell; Jakin, Brooke, Hope, and Dell. Each of these points are a cluster of homes and farms, all of whom are sponsored by Kawa-Zemke and operated by planetary settlers.

Law and order at the station, and the surrounding points are all handled by private security agents on the Kawa-Zemke payroll. Its current captain is not very happy with the idea of off-world mercenaries and fortune-seekers stepping onto their territory. The majority of the clerks and office workers at the Kawa-Zemke Offices, working on the planet as direct employees of the company, are Twi'leks, Corellians, and Cereans.

Cereans are the most populous presence within the station.

  • Spaceport Authority Kessia Cordell is a [[classification]] space port. The landing zone for space ships is a walled location away from the station itself, with a shuttle line between.
  • Walled Station There is a walled perimeter around the station.
  • General Store.
  • Cantina.
  • Medical.
  • Public Square. A public square is prominently features, as a place where inhabitants can gather.
  • Kawa-Zemke Offices. The most prominent building at the station is the towering spire of the Kawa-Zemke offices. Colony management and logistics operates from here.
