Goblin

Common Characteristics

Goblins are small humanoids typically shunned and viewed with suspicion by the more civilised races (such as humans). An average goblin stands between three and four feet tall, has large pointed ears, pointed teeth, skin ranging from grey to green and hair that is coarse and dark - if they have any hair at all.

Almost all of the other races view goblins as untrustworthy and deceptive but this is not always the case, some goblins do end up turning to a life of crime out of necessity but most simply want to get by in life - much of the distrust of goblins comes from the fact that they don't really get along with concepts like taxation or swearing of fealty ("Why am I paying taxes if the guards don't look after us goblins anyway?").

Nations

  • Free Goblin Nation - To the east of the Realm are the goblin lands, including a forest where most "free" goblins call home and an inhospitable mountain range. Despite the name, goblins from outside the Free Goblin Nations are not necessarily slaves.
  • Goblintown(s) - The nickname used by goblins and non-goblins alike for the crowded gatherings of goblin homes and businesses that to crop up in just about all settlements throughout world. The term goblintown is used whether it is a sizable shanty town on the outskirts of a large city or just a lone alleyway in a smaller town.
