Common Characteristics
Though "troll" is the most common term, these creatures are known by a variety of different names to different nations - trolls, fomori, jotun, oni, rakshasa and more - there is no real translation for what they call themselves.
When children, trolls do not look dissimilar to orcs, they have the same green-grey skin, pointed ears and tusk-like teeth (though troll tusks are notably larger than the teeth of orcs). However, as they grow to adulthood troll physiology adapts to it's environment in a sort of chaotic, accelerated evolution; some of them grow to an enormous size to cope with enemies, others grow thick fur from head to toe in order to deal with extreme cold, still others become amphibious as a result of growing up in a water heavy environment.
