The state religion of Alvarium is the Church of the Five, the religious leader of the Church is the Hierophant (normally a former high priest of one of the five). Some lay worshippers follow the Church of the Five as a whole, praying to whichever Deity is appropriate to the situation at hand; some people are more devoted to a specific Deity and each of them has their own High Priest and Priests with the five High Priests forming a sort of council along with the Hierophant.
