The planes of Taarna are known as the Otherworld. What follows is a brief explanation of the material plane, and the dimensions of Faerie and Shadow. Next, is the brief explaination of the Astral worlds beyond.
Taarna
This is the prime material plane of existence. All mortals along with
those with fae ancestry, like elves and gnomes, make their home on this
diverse world.
Faerie
There are two planes, or dimensions, of the prime material plane. One is
the plane of Faerie and the other is the plane of Shadow. The plane of
Faerie is accessed via faerie circles, mushroom patches, faerie stone
gateways. As well, there are specific times of year that particular
portals are open and fae beings cross over or mortals are able to cross
between the planes of existence.
Shadow
The plane of shadow, a dimension of the prime material plane, is a
bleak, grey, decaying land. Mortals can access the plane of shadow in a
few ways. In the darkest parts of haunted locales, such as old battle
grounds, abandoned temples, graveyards, dolmens, and death. Every mortal
that dies must past through the plane of shadow on their way over Duinn
Droichead to the plane of Tech Duinn. Tech Duinn is also known as the
House of the Dark One. This is the plane of existence all mortals must
enter and be judged by the Lord of Death, Duinn. This god will then
direct each mortal to any of the other six planes of existence. Those
planes are: The Cauldron, The Frigid Depths, Halls of Healing, Fiddlers
Green, Tir Nan Og or Land of Youth, or to Annwyn.
In order to gain access to any of the other planes of existence one must travel via astral boat across the southern or northern astral sea's.

House of the Dark One (Tech Duinn)
Though the House of the Dark One may sound foreboding it is the first step to being reincarnated onto the world of Taarna.
The Cauldron
Some mortals do not come to the House of the Dark one via the Bridge
of Duinn but by the Cauldron. Sailors, pirates, victims of sea beast
attacks or murder by mermaid or merrow will find themselves entering the
Otherworld via the Cauldron. Those lost at sea within the Cauldron may
find themselves being rescued by the likes of a large sea fairing ship
or even by rowboat and then brought to the House of the Dark One.
