The Deep Workings were only opened approximately ten years ago in order to access an exteemly rich and deep seam of mithril ore. They are located approximately two miles from The New Mine, along the Deep Drift. They are several thousand feet deeper and as a result, extremely difficult to ventilate. The Deep Mines proved extremely profitable but due to their extreme depth and remoteness, even more difficult to work and more deadly to the workers. They quickly earned a reputation as being cursed.
