Potsio is a small harbor town primarily used to support the mines of Cerro Rico. The town is located ten miles from the mine on the seacoast, along a shallow bay. The Mine Road connects the town to the mine. The bay is barely deep enough to support ships of great draught, however it is well protected from the wind and wave, so the harbor facilities mostly consist of small wooden piers to load shallow draught longboats while the Galleon's typically anchored far out in the harbor.

The town was never very large, containing a few hundred people at the it's peak. It was a company town, owned and operated exclusively by House Vetrini. Today it is little but burned wreckage.

Arriving at Potsio

As the sun rises, is it obvious a terrible catastrophe has befallen this small town, virtually burning it to the ground. What was once a small port of a few dozen houses is now a wrecked ruin.

In the harbor the remnants of three mighty galleons and a smaller sloop lie burned. The three galleons lie burned at anchor while the sloop lie further out in the shallow bay.

Maroon Camp

As the ship approaches the bay, the lookout is allowed a Survival or Nature (25) check to notice they are being watched from the peninsula to the northeast. The peninsula is heavily jungled so the watchers cannot be seen, but the behavior of the native birds and other wildlife gives the watchers away.

Burned ships in the Bay

The remains of three large galleons are clearly visible, spars and remnants of hull still protruding from the quiet water of the bay.

  • Per16 (from a distance): They all seemed to have been burned while at anchor
  • Inv(18): if searched:
  • The ships were evacuated (longboats missing)
  • The ships have been looted several times after they were burned. Very little of value remains
