This room can be entered by the sloping tunnel that connects it along it's west wall with the Old Main Shaft or a locked door on the east wall.
There is only a simple door to the room, however the entire tunnel leading up to it is extremely well lit by oil lamps spaced every five feet along the tunnel.
This cluttered room is very much devoted to the mechanical arts. Dissembled engines, pistons, springs and other bits of machinery litter various workbenches scattered around the downward sloping chamber. The room is very much not abandoned or dead, several of the machines still belch steam at regular intervals.
From within the cloud of steam something moves.
