Scrolls of Uriel Ram

Scroll

The famous sorcerer Uriel Ram was known for, among other things, the wonderous spell scrolls he created. By a process known only to him and his magical descendants, these scrolls overcome some of the limitations that normal spell scrolls posses.

Such scrolls are easily identified as they are all marked with Uriel's symbol, a stylized U with embossed on a ram's head.

Regardless of whether the spell is on your class’s spell list, as long as you are capable of casting spells you may attempt to cast it. However if the spell is not on your spell list you must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability to determine whether you cast it successfully. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a failed check, the spell disappears from the scroll and you must roll on the scroll mishap table.

If the spell is on your spell list but of a higher level than you can normally cast, you must make an ability check using your spellcasting ability to determine whether you cast it successfully. The DC equals 10 + the spell’s level. On a failed check, the spell disappears from the scroll and you must roll on the scroll mishap table.

If the spell is both not on your spell list and of a higher level then you may normally cast, you must make the above roll at disadvantage. If you are unsuccessful you must roll twice on the spell mishap
