The Rarancza Drift had been largely abandoned for many years prior to the great disaster that befell Cerro Rico. Originally dug as an alternate to the Old Drift, to more easily exploit a large mithril deposit (The Saurau load) it became seldom used after the  Saurau Load played out, and completely superfluous after the New Drift was opened. The road leading up to the Rarancza entrance was buried in a landslide around 50 years ago and the passage was completely abandoned soon afterward.

Description

This long low tunnel shows signs of disrepair. From the entrance you can see places where the ceiling has partially collapsed, littering the ground with dirt and rock. A engraved stone plaque on the entrance door reads

"Danger, unstable tunnel ahead, do not attempt"

The tunnel is approximately ten feet wide, the walls and roof of dirt and raw stone reinforced with rotting timber. It leads upward at a gentle grade.
