Hall of Bone and Spirit

This location is destroyed.
Museum exhibit

The Hall of Bone and Spirit is dedicated to the study of the particular flavor of Bardic Necromancy practiced by the Annwyn Empire. Unlike most necromancy, the Annish Shadowbards eschewed the animation of corpses and the physical shells of living things (though they were still quite capable of doing so if need drove them) and instead focused on control of the soul or spirit.

This exhibit contains examples of using songs of power for the binding of human spirts to create enchantments of unsurpassed power.

Unlike most of the museum's other areas, this hall is quiet, dark cool and shadowed, with no narrators or illusions present.

Studying the displays will reveal the basics of Bardic Necromancy and examples of its use, such as creating Jack Tars and other constructs of war. There is also an example Jack Tar construct as part of this exhibit.

Any bard who enters thinks chamber will find himself drawn to one of three displays. The bard may choose which he is drawn to

- one display shows a musician drawing the soul out of another person with music

- one shows a bard freeing his own soul and sending it out into his music

- one shows a musician opening a shadowy door with music

At the end of the hall there is a dedicated chamber focusing on The Ghost Ships of Annwyn, explaining their construction and some of their powers.

Description

Unlike most of the other exhibits you have seen in this museum, this hall is quiet, dark, cool and shadowed. No narrators or illusions are present; you can see just seven alcoves, each featuring a single runic symbol. Runes on the floor tiles glow faintly, providing the only illumination in this chamber.
