While the North Shore is primarily a tourist district, the northern part of it takes on the more industrialized look of Port Town that sits above it. It’s home to several of the city’s oldest and most well established hotels and to the Grand Pier – the older of the city’s two piers. In recent years the Grand Pier has lost out to the more modern and flashy pier in Point Shore but those wishing to take a slower more nostalgic stroll out above the waves still find it charming. It has a reputation for attracting lovers and those conducting romantic affairs.
