This is the oldest auction house in the city. Two centuries ago a mayor named Jim Tallmount joked during a financial crisis that he might as well ‘give the city to Milgrams to auction off. Collectors from the aristocracy are willing to pay vast sums to acquire objects that speak to their families long presence in Albasa society. The building is large and made out of stone with small domed west wing. The auctions themselves take place in the display room under the dome – the stone of its roof has recently been replaced by glass giving the venue a light, bright feel compared to its competitors.
