In Edgebury they believe that they do not duel for sport, rather that dueling is a way of developing and determining moral character. The art of dueling is not simply a matter of training with the sword and the gun. It is a way of giving life its true stakes, its true dimensions, always there but now realised in a single ritual. It is famous for having its students practice on the roof of the club, for when they duel for real it is almost always outdoors.
