A man wrapped in cloth from head-to-toe watches over a town, looking for a moment to sneak in under the guard's noses...

Two Humans duel in a courtyard, one with white hair, fancy clothes, and a dirty fighting style. The other upright and keeping his shield up while looking for the right openings...

100 feet beneath them, a cloaked figure sits with their head bowed and uncertain. Two jailers stand patiently and still, the only sound in the room comes from the ticking of a small pocket watch muffled by their clothes...

Miles away, a woman emerges from the ocean, looking puzzlingly at a strange light in the sky, nothing like the lights she saw in the north...

Ahment -  The Dreamer

It possesses a domain that is fully dictated by its dreams. When its avatar was summoned in 67 AHF, it possessed near-omnipotence, as if it was a lucid dreamer in real life. It had many children and had a goal to conquer the world, but in 115 AHF, it was defeated by Valos

Followers

Ahmentan - These devil-spawn are quite familiar to the eyes of many. They have glowing blue eyes and an obsessive personality, just as their father. Most commonly found in Camtost.

Akaari - Overlord of Lifeforces

Some believe her to be the mother of all life in the universe. This gives her some popularity, but she doesn't seem to favor any of her "children" in particular.

Followers

Kaaran - These cancerous followers of Akaari generally possess beast-like traits or allow growths of plants or fungi on their very bodies. They are obsessed reaching their full potential, and often make alchemical attempts similar to the Dragonborn. Most commonly found in Quenith.

Arkhan - Overlord of Purity

They hate everything impure. Lycanthropes, Vampires, and other accursed as well as the unclean. Followers of Arkhan wear silver or gold and are generally obsessed with cleanliness.

Followers

Silven - A funny group, they hate other Externials as well. The only ones that have been allowed to join the witchhunts, but that doesn't save them from betrayal. They are just about as obsessed with silver and gold as a Dwarf. Most commonly found in Springden.

Capaalon - Overlord of Awakening

A very popular pick for people to contact because he doesn't seem to have evil motives himself. The problem is he asks for unreasonable tributes.

Followers

Seeker - Everyone has heard tales of the Seekers, but no one can be too sure who exactly is one. They generally possess no real unique traits until after their deal is done, but after they can be anything from a grotesque monster to virtually indistinguishable from the Aasimar. They don't have a place of gathering and can be found virtually anywhere.

Fyr Keron - Overlord of Gravity

His portfolio at first seems simple, but there are anomalous reports of his domain possessing people thought to be dead and worshippers predicting future events, so it's possible his powers are actually some form of divination.

Followers

Grovel - The only trait we can link back to the Grovel are green eyes. They possess powerful gravity magic. We have reason to suspect Valos of being one, but he denies all claims.

Kadingir - Overlord of Destruction

Wears a crown of flame and bent on the destruction of all realms. They are one of the few externials with no known home plane, as he is often found fighting on other planes.

Followers

Ooleion - The Abductor

Little is known about the entity besides that it possesses the power to abduct towns

Followers

Oryx- The Voidwatcher

Oryx watches over the boundary between the Universe and the Void, and from the Void he brings necromancy. Who knows what he might be taking from the Universe?

Followers

Qualzaalis - Ex-god

He used to be a god of harvest and life, but his divine status was stripped upon findings he had been collaborating with Akaari. He has not been seen since 46 AC, but some insist that he still exists despite previously being a god.

Followers

Sown - Followers of the cast-off god are often mistaken for followers of Akaari due to their similarity. They tend to take on plant-like appearances. Most commonly found in Quenith.

Tumrut - Overlord of Persistence

Tumrut's existence predates history, so he is older than the gods. Over Millennia many attempts have been made to destroy him, but all have failed. He is considered an enemy, but there is no listed reason as to why.

Followers

Immutables - The resilience of the immutables is quite remarkable. Cut them to pieces and if they still have legs they trudge onward, if they still have arms they will fight, and if they still have a heart they won't falter. Most common in Quenith but also found in Candara

In an instant, the town of Woodian was destroyed by what appeared to be some kind of powerful gravitational force. In the aftermath of the devastation, The Flying Hand ran into each other and evacuated to Lilstead in the chaos.

Here is what we know:

  • A woman with cataracts claims they saw someone in the sky, wearing silver and bearing a crown of flame.
  • The destruction of Woodian mirrors the descriptions of Heaven's Fall on a more minor scale.

After weeks of tracking down thieves, Hephaestus Strongarm followed four of them into the Tallspirit Estate where they were attempting to ambush Fate's Rend and steal any magical items in the building.

After defeating and interrogating them, it was learned that they were acrobats from Quentin's Miraculous Men, a circus that was coming into town, and that their employer was someone that is among their ranks...

Upon investigating the troupe, The Party narrowed it down to these key suspects:

Upon meeting Cracknut and learning that he had witnessed five hooded figures that night. He became a key witness in the investigation that ultimately lead to Rogden being accused.

Rogden hesitantly admitted to the crime and apologized, and in return the party agreed to let him go free if he helped them with complete their goals in humid.

As my da used to say - bards are idiutts!

That is why I am riting this book. I ent never rote a book before, and I do not reckon to rite wun agenn, but sometimes a man must do what a man must do. And what I must do is set the recerd strate about my encownter with Tyrenon, no matter what them bards mite say, or how thay mite wish it to be so. Maybe you mite lern a thing or too!

Growing up as a lad in Springden, I herd all the stories. Told to me by my da, who was told by his da, who was told by his da, and so on. And one of those stories was about Tyrenon. He was a dragon and a real daynjerus wun at that. He livd up in the Aster Mowntins, unchallengd by any man or beest. Wut was interesting abowt him thoh was that he liked collecting things, and sumtimes he wood give rewards to those that gave him nice things.

Of corse, being a yung boy and growing up hearing these stories encuraged me to go into the world and lern what was owt there for myself!

Before getting into spellcasting, make shure you gather a lot of Anibary Root. It is a mirakull plant I lerned about win I ferst started. It stops the bad things from happening to your body win you are messing with the sorce. Last thing you want is to loose your sword-arm to frostbite or your wife to daimons.

Lesser Ward - Sometimes, avoiding or blocking an attack just isn’t enough. This spell will help you sustain damage when you can’t avoid it.

All quoted text are how the spells work mechanically.
The actual content of the quoted text is poorly-written magibabble.

Lesser Ward

1st-level abjuration

Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when you are hit by an attack or targeted by a spell
Range: Self
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 round

A magical barrier surrounds you, and protects you from harm. Until the start of your next turn, you gain temporary hit points equal to 5 + your spellcasting ability, which you gain before taking damage from the triggering attack or spell.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell at 2nd level
or higher, you gain 5 additional temporary hits points for each level above 1st.

Elemental Fists - Looks badass, with a variety of colors to choose from. Helps when you’ve been disarmed. Advanced casters of this spell are able to give the fists to others or even hold two elements at once.

Elemental Fists

1st-level evocation

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self
Components: V, S
Duration: Concentration, up to 10 minutes

You cause your fists to be engulfed with elemental power. Choose one elemental damage type: cold, fire, or lightning. For the duration, your unarmed strikes deal an additional 1d4 damage of your choosing.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell at 3rd level, the damage die increases to 1d6. The damage die increases again to 1d8 when you cast this spell at 5th level, 1d10 at 7th level, and 1d12 at 9th level.

Burden - A spell Devin created when trying to find a way to create a spell that inflicts the wounds he suffered upon others. He has yet to meet someone skilled in voodoo to help with it. This one doesn’t cause damage, but it makes your enemies slower in many aspects of battle.

Burden

1st-level transmutation

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Touch
Components: V, S
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute

You touch a creature, increasing its weight and slowing it down to a near standstill. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or their speed is reduced by 15 feet and they can’t take reactions for the duration. If a creature's speed is reduced to 0 with this spell, that creature becomes restrained for the duration. A creature affected by this spell makes another Constitution saving throw at the end of each of its turns. On a successful save, the effect ends for it.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell at 2nd level or higher, the target's speed is reduced by 5 additional feet for each level above 1st. When you cast this spell at 5th level or higher, the creature can only take an action or a bonus action on their turn, in addition to having their speed reduced.

Combustion - Upon meeting Tyrenon, a powerful dragon, and offering tribute of his magic sword, Devin was granted some knowledge on draconic spellcraft. This one allows for you to create a circle of flames around you with quick speed.

Combustion

1st-level evocation

Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you can take at the end of any turn
Range: Self (5-foot radius)
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

You create a burst of flame, causing creatures within 5 feet of you to be engulfed in a pulse of burning fire. Each creature in the area must make an Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 1d8 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell at 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each level above 1st.

Dark Talons - Another spell learnt from Tyrenon, useful for holding people in place while burning them with hot spikes.

Dark Talons

1st-level conjuration

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S, M (a handful of earth, clay or rock)

You call forth draconic talons from the ground underneath a creature that you can see within range. The creature must make a Strength saving throw or take 1d6 piercing damage plus 1d6 fire damage, and be grappled by the talons for the duration. On a success, the creature takes half of much damage and isn’t restrained.
A creature restrained by the talons can use its action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC. On a success, it frees itself. When the spell ends, the talons return into the earth.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell at 2nd level or higher, the piercing damage increases by 1d6 for each level above 1st.

Dragon Leap - After learning some of the draconic secrets, Devin invented this spell. It grants a temporary boost in mobility, and a advanced version of the spell you can learn in later sections of the book is “guaranteed to help you escape any dragon you scam”. It seems Devin’s sword was stolen back by Devin upon his departure.

Two brothers, each known as Dr. Wong, are seeking to resurrect Brendan Weiß, Lilian Weiß's dead husband. They are currently hiring adventurers to procure the following items, paying 50 gold for each one:

  1. Manuscripts from the Whitewillow Crypts in Woodian.
  2. The Orb of the Voidspeaker. It is currently in the possession of a mage loyal to the Renards, a rival family to the Weiß.

Upon arriving in Woodian, The Flying Hand made their way directly to the crypts, where they were surprised to find Volikai the Whisperer, the aforementioned Renard loyalist, already there. Sneaking through the crypts to follow him, Ko successfully trapped the mage in a room where he was separated from his belongings.

Unfortunately, Erdee, the Dwarf's Goblin assistant was careless with his care of the orb and it shattered. Leon Weiß collected what was now the Shards of the Voidspeaker.

The following text is written in Draconic.

These are the personal thoughts and experiences of Vildosiik. However, the power it could summon seems boundless.

Entry #1

An apprentice of mine recently discovered an interesting rune in a cavern to the south. It is like nothing I've seen in my years researching the powers of the past. I believe it contains an immense amount of power, but I can't be certain for what purpose it serves. I'll need to spend some time deciphering this. It could be quite valuable to us.

Entry #2

I've spent the last several weeks working tirelessly to decipher this ancient rune. It's just as I suspected it is some kind of power source. However, using it seems to pose a great risk of harm to the body.

Entry #3

I have made a breakthrough! While the rune would destroy any mortal that tried to harness its power, I believe that the rune possesses the power to pierce a hole in The Celestial Seal and draw power directly from the Void Force, and then in turn I should be able to survive using the rune with the void energy. This discovery is monumental! If I can learn to tap into this power, I can wield the might of which the world has never seen!

Entry #4

My research has come to a critical juncture. I figured out the runes summon what I can only think of as a sentient being. The problem is activating them would require the work of a powerful necromancer. I taught myself the proper incantations, so now it comes down to this decisive moment!

Entry #5

The clan leaders heard of my experiment... and what went wrong. It's my fault what happened to Gythenag, my loyal apprentice... but we can't stop now! I've sacrificed so much for this project, and I know that I'm on the precipice of greatness! I created one last experiment, a test ritual that would only require four assistants... and a few unfortunate slaves. The clan leaders disapproved of my proposal, but I will not let them stop me when I am so close!

Entry #6

The clan leaders heard of what I was planning, and before I could bring together everything I needed they had me arrested. I was brought before Tamahan herself for my judgment. Before I was taken to her, my new apprentice, Aru, suggested I plead insanity and swear away my studies of the arcane... foolish Kobold!

Entry #7

Exile was not the punishment I had expected, but it seems Tamahan respected my pursuits. We need to use every ounce of power to fend off the invaders from Candara. I was also pleased to find Yilri and Erjath waiting for me as we left.

Entry #8

I made a friend of an enemy today. We were traveling when we were ambushed by Candaran soldiers, but thankfully my knowledge of their war customs allowed for us to surrender without being harmed... I don't count Aru. They were led by a nobleman known as Harald Weiß. He was surprised by my respect for their culture and engaged with me, telling many fascinating stories.

Entry #9

I decided to take a gamble. I know Humans generally despise necromancy, but this man seemed more level-headed than most. I told him of my research and why I had been separated from my clan along with my apprentices. I offered him a deal with an outstretched hand: I would assist his army in carving out a chunk of territory to the south by fighting against the Willowalker Elves, a thorn in my clan's side for ages, giving him a large claim of the lands, and in return, he would help me complete my research and perhaps once that was done he could be the "saints" of this war that bring it to a truce. After a moment of silence, a moment of agony followed as he cut off my arm. Thankfully, Harald did not order my execution after my offer, but it certainly feels like he now plans to let us rot behind bars anyway.

Entry #10

Much time has passed, and the situation has changed. Harald released us from our prison today and agreed to go with the plan I mentioned to him months ago, under the condition that he be one of the casters of the ritual so that he truly knows what he is doing, and so that he can stop it if he changes his mind about heading down this dark path. I agreed.

Entry #11

I understand now necromancers get so addicted to this power. It's strange how freeing it feels to have two arms once again. The battlefield is the perfect training ground to perfect my knowledge of necromancy and improve the chances of success in this ritual. I also find it easier to watch the traitorous humans fight one another rather than my brethren. We only need one last thing to ensure the ritual goes smoothly... dear Gythenag's body will be of use once more...

Entry #12

We finally have everything required to complete the ritual... the only thing now is to make sure Aru doesn't muck the whole thing up. It's a shame I couldn't exchange one last conversation with the clan leaders before the fruits of my labor prove their fears were meaningless. If we're lucky, perhaps we will inherit the same lifespans as the elves we captured, although I suppose that won't be too important to me since I will certainly be able to claim the Rite of Ascension after this succeeds.

Entry #13

Nothing could have prepared me for the power I am about to wield. The whole of my life has been for this moment. Soon, my followers and I shall perform a ritual the likes of which has not been seen in centuries! Once the clans hear of my power, the Rite of Ascension shall be mine to claim! The time is at hand!
