Caught between dragon's fire and a watery grave, The Raven Shield struggles to survive. All on the brink of exhaustion, Luciano Vanitoso, Lorenzo, and Silvayn struggle against the tides when the necklaces given to them by Aslyn light up and create bubbles of energy around them.
The next morning, they find themselves washed up on strange shores, among the bodies of the fallen. A stroll along the beach reveals the gravity of their injuries, and a new possible threat: an Aregis Alliance scouting party led by Alessa, investigating the shipwrecks.
An attempt to parlay by Luciano fails, and the party is taken into custody.
Taken to Alessa's camp in the Cradle Plains of Val Luno, the party is shown to their accommodations (rusty cages) and stripped of most of their valuables and weapons. Dr. Nazarro provides some basic first aid, and informs the party that Port Sena has not fallen - not yet.
At night, the party tries their luck, and with some ingenuity, skill and luck manage to escape their confiment. Upon entering the commander's tent, they find Alessa and her fellow commander Orazio - very much awake, and very much alerted.
