Session 69, 70 & 71: The Dark Road Ahead

21st of Falldawn

Silvayn attempts a scheme to regain a sword he sold to a merchant, which leads to the party being banned from The Dirty Deeds.

Wynne takes The Raven Shield south, towards the Principe Foothills.

There, they meet Brulf, the commander of the Luno Rebellion in the Cradle Plains.

Given the party's recent tactics, he rejects outright membership of the Rebellion, but he does tell them that they could be of use as blunt weapons. The Principe Foothills are rumored to be haunted by a group of magic-users, plotting dark things against Port Sena. Their deaths would be most valuable to the Luno Rebellion.

The party heads into the dark woods of the Principe Foothills, leaving Gertrude (their horse) and cart with Wynne, who will stable them at The Dirty Deeds. They soon come across a crumbling watchtower, which proves difficult to climb. They spend the night in its ruined structure, to try again tomorrow.

22nd of Falldawn

The next day, Luciano Vanitoso finally manages to climb the tower, and get their bearings on the immediate environment. The rest of the day is spent slowly working their way through the woods, encountering abandoned camps of both the Aregis Alliance and Luno Rebellion, and several ancient sites built out of a cold, black stone.

23rd of Falldawn

The party discovers the ruins of what looks like a village built out of black stone, deep in the heart of the forest. Through whisps of mist they discover the cabal of wizards they have been looking for - led by Mizara, an old rival turned spiteful enemy of Silvayn.

In one of the most desperate battles for The Raven Shield yet, they manage to come out on top against all odds, and slay the group down to the last man.
