Uthal was part of a Goliath clan. In order to improve the clan's strength he went to a giant known for his knowledge of old arcane runes. Uthal was taught in multiple runes but had to promise to not use them in combat. After putting two runes on his weapons he got banished. Because of the shame of not learning all the runes, therefore not gathering enough power, he continued his journey in hopes of finding better ways to protect himself.
Uthal found himself in Grunsumpf, where he was vital in taking down Giovanni Marko, the mayor turned vampire.
After an unknown mercenary force attacked Grunsumpf, it is unknown what happened to him.
