In a climactic confrontation, in which Cereborn briefly posed as Gasha Ugdug, the party managed to close the portal before some unfathomable Elleseand monstrosity was able to fully pass through.
Cereborn, defeated, delivered Cereborn's Dying Words, and was left behind by the party as the base started to collapse around them.
A plant-like being with numerous vines blocked their exit, having escaped from its magical prison with the collapse of the portal.
It was only through Makaria's sacrifice that the party was able to escape, finding themselves back outside The Hog's Head, bruised, beat-up, bleeding... but alive.
