Long ago after the night of fallen stars, when the human nations first crossed path with the elvish territories, there was a semblance of unsteady cooperation between elves and humans. as it was the primal times, there was other forces at hand to deal with - but having tenuous neighbors at each border crossing over to pillage the newly discovered phraxdoms from different territories. This led to heated debates on mining rights which then scaled up entirely to full-fledged war. These wars raged all along the middle borders of the old nation of ______. Drying up creeks, burning down forests, and scorching the natural plains around, this war raged for upwards of sixty years until the battle of _____ occurred between two of the highest ranking generals of the human and elvish armies.
Unbeknownst to them, this battle took place closer to one of the largest halflings communities, the ____ burrows. Unfortunately for them, a few of their humble farmers and merchants got caught in one of the crossfires of their skirmishes. This brought sadness and anger to one of the Halflings' most treasured parents - Mama Gunthry. Hearing the suffering of her children, Mama Gunthry took to the battlefield in her most distinguished of armament - a chef's apron, a floral hat, a frying skillet in hand, and a handy haversack on her hip. Mama Gunthry snuck her way directly into the elven general's tent to bring words of fury down upon her, but to her dismay, the elven general did not heed her words the slightest. So, being forced to make her listen, Mama Gunthry proceeded to take the elvish general by her ear and march her out of her own encampment stunning her soldiers by the side of this great general being humbled by this smaller statured woman. Mama Gunthry dragged the elvish general by her ear across the active battlefield, causing many who saw her to pause in their own frenzy to... fully take in the sight as she marched fully into the enemy fort, beating back the brave boys who tried to get in Mama Gunthry's way, as she paraded through the tent encampment leaving behind a trail of bawling boys with kneecaps in serious pain. She dragged the elvish general to meet with the human general, and after a VERY short argument that was interrupted with both grown adults groveling wanting their ears released by Mama Gunthry. She forced them all to share a meal together and actually talk things out for the first time in sixty years. For those who bore witness, the tall tales of Mama Gunthrykeeping an eye on both generals as she laid out and prepared the meal right in front of them. Long through the night of actual talking and seeing much more similarities than differences, a ceasefire was drawn up to take back to their kings and queens.
One of the larger skirmishes between elves and humans brought low not as either sides' history would retell it as the tales have now been....'rebranded,' saying that either a force of nature truly terrifying came and ravaged the battlefield or a dragon came through and caused both sides to retreat. No, the true tale is that one halfling, one mother of five, brought low the petty bickering of grown men and women. Thus, the tale of Mama Gunthryand how she ended a war. One halfling with a skillet and glowing fist brought down two generals. No assassin, no spy, no greater being, but a halfling in her chef's apron, a flowery hat, and a skillet.
