Where much of the graduated Drow live. The Hive System is still implemented, but the Drow get a choice of who they live with communally - now learn more of the outside world. Hunting, gathering, growing, survival, as well as get their first interactions with some select people from the outside world. Some merchants, warriors, people - who are privy to this Glen's location are brought in to expose the Drow to all the other races they were once taught to be lesser-than. There are but few people who live in this coven full time who aren't Drow, and when stragglers from outside OR welcome guests are to arrive, it becomes a bit of a local event. Frequently does it turn into a fullblown festival once the traveling city-state Vostueria comes by. It is the center of trade where they learn much of what they need to survive, and those that have gained trust or piety with Eilistraee are gifted their silverswords & granted access to leave the Glen. The reigning earliest record for a Drow to reach this point is a couple months after reaching the surface, but the average of how long it takes is 2-3 years. There are still some Drow that may take even a decade or two before they can integrate onto the Main Square. Any Drow that does not fully comply with the Hive Training are given leeway to leave after undergoing a protection ritual - unbeknownst to them it is a ritual involving a certain Azerai that carefully reaps the memory of the Glen from the Drow's mind. The Priestess will send off the Drow outside of the forest, giving them the freedom to choose where they would want to go. Any Drow at this point do understand that retreating back into the Underdark is nary a functional idea, so they are merely given a guidebook, rations, some weaponry - and their belongings they came with, venturing off to wherever they choose.
Residing in the Forest of Nightmares ever since the first of Eilistraens' Chosen had escaped from the Underdark. Hidden away in this grotto, Drow that were called from below have been guided here for 3 generations now seeking their escape from their masters', mistresses, or cultural shackles to find an escape & survive on their own. Utilizing magics ordained by Eilistraee herself has been kept secret from the few Drow raids that ever surface in these woods. In turn with its great increase of numbers as of recent, the priestesses here also keep a vigilance in the forest for Drow raids, Drow deserters, and any poor unfortunate souls to end up lost in these woods. Thanks to the canopy provided in the forest, this coven becomes the most natural transitioning point for Drow to survive on the material plane & under the sun's harsh light.
Though this coven does not do it alone in their fight for freedom, ever since the 2nd generation Eilistraen priests & priestesses have made pilgrimages outside of the glen to see the world & try to do right as per Eilistraee's teaching. As such they have discovered a few other communities that accept & believe in their plight. The head priestesses have made few connections with other underground organizations that deal with supernatural, and even those that hide outside of the top siders' societies such as Vostueria.
