Quartz Phrax holds the essence of the earth. Quartz Phrax are easily found deep in regular mines but are almost indistinguishable from regular crystals.

Attaching it to your armor or clothing gives you advantage on grapple checks and all saves against being knocked prone. While this crystal is attached to your armor you cannot be moved against your will.

As an action, you can throw this crystal up to 30 feet, shattering it on impact. Make a ranged attack against a creature or object, treating the Quartz Phrax as an improvised weapon. On a hit, each creature within 10 ft of the intended target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure they take 4d8 Force damage and are deafened for 1d4 hours. On a success the creatures take 2d8 force damage.

On destruction the terrain is shattered to pieces, causing the rock or earth underneath it to turn into a quickly consuming pit of quicksand or mire. Any creature within 20 ft of the shatter location must make a DC 15 strength saving throw or fall half their height into the mire and be restrained. The 20ft radius, 40ft deep area becomes difficult terrain requiring a DC 15 athletics check to traverse it without falling in. On a failure the creature sinks in becoming restrained. Any creature restrained by the terrain must end their turn outside of the quicksand or sink further in and start to suffocate.

when combined with melee weapons or ammunition the next successful attack deals an extra 2d8 force damage and is used up.

The crystal can be used to reinforce any buildings, objects and non magical materials

SpoilerThis is the only phrax that can combine with Void phrax and actually stabilize its chaotic attributes
