Storm Phrax holds the essence of the sky. These are the hardest to find naturally as they come out in the aftermath of a twister or tornado. Some ingenius inventors have made stormcatchers using a process with some rocks, a weathervein, and magic, they're able to go to significantly windy locales and reinfuse empty Phrax Crystals to create Storm Phraxcrystals.

Attaching it to your armor or clothing gives you an additional 5 ft of movement and additional 10 ft to all jumps.

As an action, you can throw this crystal up to 30 feet, shattering it on impact. Make a ranged attack against a creature or object, treating the Storm Phrax as an improvised weapon. On a hit, each creature within 10 ft of the intended target must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failure they take 4d8 thunder damage and pushed back 10 ft from the center of the blast and are knocked prone.  On a success the creatures take 2d8 thunder damage.

On destruction the terrain is filled by a 40ftx40ft miniature tornado that extends 100ft tall or to the ceiling of the enclosed space, this tornado lasts for 1d8 minutes. Creatures who move inside the area suffer effects depending on their size and whether they're airborne. Each creature must make a saving throw at the beginning of its turn or when in enters the affected area.

  • Medium or smaller creatures must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution save or be knocked 1d4×10 feet away from the eye of the hurricane's center and take 1d4 points of nonlethal damage per10 feet traveled and fall prone. Flying creatures are blown back 2d6×10 feet and take 2d6 points of nonlethal damage.
  • Large creatures must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution save or be knocked prone by the force of the wind. Flying creatures are instead blown back 1d6×10 feet.
  • Huge creatures must succeed on a Constitution save or be checked. Flying creatures are instead blown back 1d6×5 feet.
  • Gargantuan and Colossal creatures can move through the spell's area without adverse consequences.
  • when combined with melee weapons or ammunition the next successful attack deals an extra 2d8 thunder damage and is used up.

The crystal can be used to for a wide range of wind based devices, fans, and when clustered together of found in large enough pieces can be used to make floating stones. These stones are quintessential for manufactured floating islands or some types of skyships and other aerial transport.
