The Cook COven works by drawing in elemental energies of its surrounding environment for reprocessing to imbue or replicate food. It takes the conjure food/water spell, but makes it gourmet!
Diavolo de Design couldn't tolerate dangerous replicas that'd leave people accidentally blowing up due to his inventions, leading him to sponsor lesser inventors to create safe, cheaper, lower rarity variants of the Cook COven. If Diavolo de Design got a contract for them to pay him a cut from the sales of those lower quality ones, it would be a pseudo-monopoly. The contracts further add to Clever's overall business since he just takes the cut from sales of the CCOven and not anything else they do.
