Matron Mother of House Arken'Val, the name stands for "Mages of the Silken Weave."
A nerdy matron of low charisma, Saraniss is a freckled Drow with discoloration around her eyes from late nights reading and experimenting, and a braid for every tail grimoire she has. She might have an arcane candle emitting purple light from the Faezress/Weave with a series of candles as part of a hat she adorns. This candle's light does 1-3 things, it might protect her from low level magic (1-3) or detecting magic or planar creatures that isn't of her person. She wears arcane glasses that assist with her horrendous eyesight, feature comprehend languages and helps her read anything. She should wear only comfortable dresses - nothing tight fitting, instead her dresses are poofy, loose, and with layers. Her skirt should be long and large.
Backstory. She was not the first choice of Granny Arken'Val, but after excelling beyond the priestesses in magical prowess and driving out her other sisters through sheer magic power there truly was no other choice.
She sealed away her city within a living arcane labyrinth, effectively ensuring her ownership of its lands. The city has neon lighting from the sheer magic operating it and it's levitating elevators. She's a pro at tower defense, which is why she does the least open raids, and only Magic infiltrations. She stole tech from Duergar and Svirfneblins to try to be more self sufficient for the purposes of making a hanging gardens or printing presses. Her Spiders have spell glyphs painted onto their abdomens.
She levitates everywhere to conserve energy that could be used for studying or experimentation. One of her grimoires might be Svirfneblin magic studies, and another one could've been the result of excavations.. and as such is less clear what civilization it was. She doesn't leave her tower often enough, and occasionally gets lost in her own maze. In the future, she's intended to supply The Valsharess many ancient magics to secure the portal uptop and the wards against teleportation. In return, she is paid in ALL the literature including...spicier material. If you are able to talk to her and talk nerdy, she would forget being drow and just want to nerd out. If you secretly activate the otaku romance route with her, she's gonna fall HARD.
She is a Wizard of Wizards who loves raiding or infiltrating high magic civilizations. Her "tail grimoires" are three chain grimoires that function like tails for her ensemble. Each grimoire is the magic knowledge of a different raided civilizations. Each grimoire can focus on a different spell. A grimoire not concentrating on a spell may be used to cast a spell (1-5) in sync with her own spell cast (or ALTERNATIVELY as a legendary action? Hmm).
