Chriirah is a habitable planet and homeworld of the Birrin species. Similar to size and density of Old Terra, Chriirah is by comparison a hothouse world presently dominated by eroding continents and vast, ice-free oceans.

Historical activities by Birrin have resulted in significant shifts in the biosphere and atmosphere, with the resulting creation of a new geological age.

The equator of Chriirah, baked to lethally high temperatures by its sun, has long presented a barrier to trade and communication between Northern and Southern Birrin cultures. Prior to the first Birrin civilizations’ destruction, the region could be easily traversed: Centuries later, a legacy of industrially derived carbon dioxide and other substances has cut off the emergent societies that survived the Fall. It wasn’t until the rediscovery of the internal combustion engine that the first refrigerated ships crossed the equatorial ocean to re-establish contact.

Chriirah has two moons like Mars: Kahirah and the much smaller Male, a captured asteroid.
