AKA svirfneblin (s'veerf neblin), these gray skinned gnomes live deep in the Underdark. Most of their settlements aren't known to non-svirfneblin; the main one familiar to outsiders is Blingdenstone. They keep to themselves and are highly cautious of other races for their own protection. They have the ability to camouflage themselves and are often encountered in the company of elementals, which defend their towns. Their economy is heavily reliant on the mining of gemstones, which are used in weapons and the arts.
