while approaching Sloobludop, Party is ambushed by 9 kuo-toa yelling "Leemooggoogoon!"
- Mylz casts fog cloud, causing visibility to drop to zero
- Mylz leads everyone else out of the cloud while the kuo-toa stab at it aimlessly
- Mylz casts light on a rock and throws it in the opposite direction to distract the kuo-toa; it turns out, bright light is blinding to the fish people
- due to lack of communication, Skjorn shoots an attack at them and draws their attention back

- Mylz and Shuushar attempt to talk to the kuo-toa, learning that they intend to sacrifice Party to their god
- Skjorn casts light on another rock and Zaz holds it while they run to keep their pursuers at bay
Party runs into another group of kuo-toa led by Ploopploopeen
- Ploop orders his followers to attack the other kuo-toa, saving Party
- he tells Party to follow him, and they run towards the village
- on the way, he introduces himself and explains that Sloobludop is divided
the village is full of fish people and various dead things they use in everyday life or for offerings
Ploop leads Party to his hovel, where he asks them for help
- Ploop's son briefly protests to outsiders getting involved but is waved off
- Ploop explains that he is the archpriest of the Sea Mother, a scavenger goddess, and typically leads the village
- his daughter, Bloppblippodd, received a vision one night and formed a cult worshiping the Deep Father
- the Deep Father is a bloodthirsty god, demanding sacrifices
- Ploop wants Party to act as bait by pretending to be an offering, so Ploop can get close to Blopp and kill her
Party is understandably nervous and untrustworthy
- Ploop assures them that they will be well-rewarded and he will make sure they have transportation to their next destination
- he also threatens them that he plans to use them as bait whether they agree or not, and he will not guarantee their safety unless they go willingly
- Party is heavily outnumbered; not having much of a choice, they agree with the plan
begin quest: Assist the Kuo-toa
Party is brought before Blopp as "sacrifices," which she accepts
- there is another sacrifice already here, a beaten and tied-up duergar (Hemeth)
- they are all forced to stand over a bloodied grate in front of a disturbing altar made of dead sea creatures
- everyone is scared they're actually going to die as all kuo-toa begin chanting and circling them in a ritual
suddenly, Ploop sneaks up behind Blopp and stabs her
- Sea Mother worshipers begin attacking Deep Father worshipers; all hell breaks loose
- Zaz flies up to a rooftop for safety
- Mylz knocks Blopp down and Dibrael ties her legs together
something lurks in the Darklake, and kuo-toa begin attacking things in the water while being pulled under
- as the final blow hits Blopp, her blood drips through the grate into the lake
end quest: Assist the Kuo-toa
Demogorgon, Prince of Demons, rises from the Darklake
- the kuo-toa can do nothing but chant "Leemooggoogoon!" as madness takes hold
- Dibrael and Sarith faint
- Skjorn, Junior, and Turvy are paralyzed
- Mylz can only scream, and Shuushar is stuck in prayer
Zaz scrambles to save everyone, commanding whoever is still conscious and able to move
- Buppido and Jimjar immediately flee
- Zaz flies Junior out of the village and returns to help others
- Ront throws Skjorn and Mylz over his shoulders and carries Turvy in his arms; Topsy follows after him
- Derendil carries Dibrael
- Eldeth unties Hemeth, who immediately flees
- Eldeth makes the decision to help carry Shuushar out over Sarith
- Zaz comes back for Sarith on his own, just barely making it out in time
Demogorgon smashes the docks, sending kuo-toa flying; some kuo-toa begin mutating and instantly dying
Party successfully escapes the village
