Party settles down at the inn, Ghohlbrorn's Lair
- Eldeth immediately orders a generous amount of alcohol
Skjorn orders their strongest alcohol; everyone's a bit worried about the state he's in
- Mylz gets a drink and warns Skjorn to be careful with Dwarven ale
- it tastes "like someone spilled a bucket of cinnamon and the hottest peppers into a tub full of battery acid;" Skjorn drinks it anyway and orders a couple more
Zaz inspects the fire beetle scars on his legs and Dibrael tells him about a not-so-epic scar he got
- Dibrael offers to buy Zaz a drink, which would be his first alcohol ever
- Dibrael decides he won't drink too much himself so he can keep an eye on Zaz
- Zaz is immediately tipsy and loudly flirts with Dibrael
a drunken Skjorn stumbles over to Sarith and invites him to his bed
- Mylz helps Sarith take Skjorn to his room, with the intent of putting him to sleep
- Sarith asks Skjorn which pocket his room key is in and has to feel around before he finds it
- he realizes that he has the same room key, and Mylz takes pity on him and allows him to switch with her

downstairs, Derendil is struggling to order a drink at the bar due to his quaggoth appearance
- Zaz comes to his defense, insisting the quaggoth is a prince; the bartender, tired of arguing, gives in and lets Derendil have a drink
- Zaz asks for a recommendation and the bartender gives him a standard ale, which he overpays for
- the bartender tells Dibrael to keep his "kid" in line
meanwhile, Zaz drinks more and still doesn't like it
- Dibrael is amused by Zaz's drunken antics until he accidentally smacks Ront and knocks Turvy over with his wings
- Topsy tells Zaz to watch it and suggests he go to his room
- Zaz apologizes, teary-eyed, and Dibrael persuades him to retire for the night
Dibrael and Zaz make it upstairs, passing by Mylz who is fetching some food and water for Skjorn
