Kurrem Lla is one of the last legitimate dancers known to Nebay and Aamidal. She was a student of the Hag, and became a teacher of Mojgan. She speaks in a soft whisper, her voice having consistently lost volume over the last few years likely due to exposure to something.
The Hag had Kurrem become a concubine for her grandson Damondar II, saying that his heir Sahildar would not prove to be suitable. This enraged Queen Azadeh Xhas. Kurrem gave birth to Ranis Rin, but Azadeh would not let it become public knowledge and instead raised the Sunbird pretending that she was her natural daughter. After the Hag's death, Azadeh Xhas sent Kurrem to teach at the Palace of Noble Deliverance in an attempt to minimize her power over Damondar and Ranis.
Many people in upper societies think that Mojgan might be another of Damondar's children and that Kurrem enslaved her so that Damondar would free her, giving her the title Tezetazatzin to put next to the name Lla.
Kurrem should be enemies with the 'Deyzalira' Atena Zareii of the troupe of murder harlots in the Floating Palace, but for some reason they often show each other quite a bit of camraderie at parties.
