The laughter of a woman rings out from the reception area. There is a dark, fatalistic turn to the sound. "It is folly to try to predict the Weaver's work from the dance of her arms, and yet we try! The Deyzalira said nothing about your presence. What brings you here, Stealer of Soles?"
Nazanin's voice is nothing like Pachei's. It lacks the coarseness and inexperience, suggests a respect for things with greater meaning than money and the opportunity to violently express one's will. The criminal in the other room, like most native to the Floating Palace, is well educated, and when predisposed, can claim, honestly, more titles and a lineage even your mind would struggle to track. Yet she is hardly more than a petty criminal, an enforcer for Atena Zareii, the Deyzalira of Teraat's particular strain of murder harlot.
Nazanin is Mojgan's favorite of Zareii's troupe, and her best friend. She was Pachei's Hosalira before Pachei came to study under Mojgan.
She has a husband but never talks about him. She has lands on Altaxa. She hates Zareii but won't let Mojgan help her leave her, and says Zareii is too important to the troupe's survival.
