More wolf than dog, Gunner would have been an intimidating sight to anyone stumbling across the Tranquil Cloud days after the crew’s departure, especially to any invaders into the derelict scout, into it’s once home. Now, the huge temple dog is mostly matted fur and skin and bone. It lays near empty bowls, belly down, chin low to the ground, watching you submissively with big, sad eyes. It’s matted fur is bloody and scabbed over in places, old wounds, perhaps from a fight with one of the big native birds, an attempt at a bigger meal than the small birds and little lizards of the scrub forest.
It whimpers when you spot it and paws at its empty bowl, long claws scraping against the steel.
Gunner is a Daati Temple Dog. He seems to have been somehow acquired by Prince Bhimsen and the previous crew of the Tranquil Cloud and then abandoned. Four months later, he was found by and the others of the new crew who came to retrieve the Tranquil Cloud.
The new crew would like to return him to the Daati. And give him a name that is not related to violence.
