Pachei is a rural Koyan from Tismin Insu, a small fishing village along the Shattered Bay that also holds Salt.
A few months before the 150th Festival of Lights, Pachei left her village and smuggled herself aboard a ship. She initially tells Mojgan she left because the Rightful Heir was recruiting around her village, but later statements suggest that there was more violence, and that she perhaps lost her family. She says she thought about joining up with some Daati pilgrims on the ship but ended up going with Nazanin Dhirbai to the Floating Palace of Teraat, where she joined Zareii's troupe of street dancers and studied under Nazanin. She says she did this because Nazanin seemed richer than the Daati, but Pachei seems to be very serious about her studies.
Mojgan met Pachei, Jesrai, and Sudanis at Zhan's villa shortly before the 150th festival.
